German-based data protection specialist, conpal GmbH, was recently acquired by Utimaco as part of Utimaco’s strategic expansion of solution portfolio. This acquisition is expected to provide Utimaco’s customers with a comprehensive portfolio of IT security solutions in several areas, including data encryption, hardware security modules, key management, and public key infrastructure (PKI).

Existing conpal customers can expect continuity following the acquisition. The file encryption conpal LAN Crypt, respectively u. trust Data File, will be continued for the foreseeable future under one name. This ensures that customers’ sensitive data remains legally secure and compliant with data protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, PDPA, etc.

The acquisition is a significant milestone in Utimaco’s development from a product to a solution provider. For existing conpal LAN Crypt customers, they can continue to expect the same level of quality and service they are used to from conpal.
