2022.04.02 New version DriveLock 2022.1 is released

we are pleased to inform you that the new version DriveLock 2022.1 is now available. A large part of the functionality has already been available to all Managed Security Services customers since the end of February.

For the first time, all organizations already managing their infrastructure and user permissions centrally with Microsoft Azure cloud platform and Azure Active-Directory can now sync these groups in DriveLock and use them for access permissions and DriveLock security policy assignment in the same way they could previously with on-premises Active-Directory.

DriveLock continues to execute on its cloud strategy and now offers all Microsoft Azure customers seamless integration of DriveLock’s protection and security features without any additional administrative effort.

• There is also a whole range of other new features coming with this major release. The ease of creating rules for drives via DriveLock Operations Center, introduced in the previous release, has now been extended to allow the creation of application rules to unlock applications quickly and easily. Administrators can selectively unlock locked-down applications for users from the central console without having to modify existing policies. This significantly reduces the administrative effort required to effectively protect the enterprise against malware and ransomware.

• The ability to manage groups has also been improved in such way, that all configuration of dynamic groups can now be done in DriveLock Operations Center without having to access the DriveLock Management Console. Additional filter criteria have also been added, further increasing the flexibility of computer groups. At the same time, it has become easier to configure more complex filter sets.

• Changes in the new version do not only concern configuration options, but technical improvements have also been implemented. By switching to a new storage format for DriveLock policies, their average size has been reduced by almost 90%, significantly reducing the amount of data transferred when changing security settings and resulting in faster policy processing. Switching to this new policy format is possible for all customers who have already upgraded all DriveLock agents to version 2020.2 or newer.

• For faster error analysis, DriveLock Support Companion now offers detailed tests of communication connections between the agent and the central DriveLock services, as well as an extended presentation of the results.

Starting with version 2022.1, the DriveLock Operations Center (DOC) with its modern web interface will completely replace the DriveLock Control Center (DCC) and offer even more functionality and customer benefits – as announced with the last release in 2021.

We have stopped developing the DCC and it will no longer be part of our product. DriveLock 2021.2 is the last version that officially supports the DCC until May 2024.
