OGCIO ( now is called DPO) updated the IT Security Guidelines [G3], Version 10.1 and Baseline IT Security Policy [S17], Version 8.1 in July of 2024. To follow the new requirements of G3 and S17. UDS developed UDS SG Protected Disk Enterprise Version 4.5 to meet the new requirements of G3 an S17.

UDS SG Protected Disk version 4.5 has the following major improvements :

1. Restricted the password policy to minimum 8 length with mixed-case alphabetic characters, numerals, and special characters.

2. Force checking the conflicts with 8 historical passwords when changing password.

3. Force changing password every 3 months.

4. Force changing password when the imported disk is generated from older version Protected Disk 4.0.x or Sophos SafeGuard PrivateDisk 2.5.

5. Increase delay time every time when invalid logon attempts.

6. Support Microsoft Windows 10 and 11.

UDS SG Protected Disk Enterprise Edition version 4.0/4.5 are based on the source code from old Sopho SafeGuard PrivateDisk version 2.5. So both version can open the “End of Support” Sopho SafeGuard PrivateDisk version 2.5 encrypted volume.

UDS Data Systems gained the source code from Sophos and have the right to sell and support our UDS SG Protected Disk Enterprise Edition in Greater China Region including Hong Kong, Macau, China and Taiwan.
